The key responsibilities include Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Fintechs- regulatory approach/ framework, Emerging Technologies such as AI, Quantum, DLT, Blockchain etc, Fintech Innovation-Regulatory Sandbox, Hackathon, RegTech, Suptech, Open Finance initiatives through Account Aggregator, P2P lending, policies relating to virtual digital assets, emerging technologies, activities of Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) - fully owned subsidiary of RBI, etc.
Had represents India in engagements with Multilateral Institutions including Financial Stability Board (FSB) and also represents RBI in BIS Innovation Network, and Financial Innovation Network
Has almost 30 years’ experience with the Central Bank with more than 15 years’ hands on experience in Supervision encompassing commercial banks, large non-banks and cooperatives.
He has served on the Boards of commercial banks.
Handled core functions of the Central Bank including Currency Management, Foreign Exchange, Rural Credit, Planning, Auditing & Budgeting.
Has an education background of MBA, MS in Finance and Financial Regulation from UK.
