Sachin Shah

Sachin N. Shah is the CEO, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Pentara Capital, with over 25 years of leadership experience spanning insurance, financial services, and international markets.

Before co-founding Pentara, he served as General Manager, Emerging Markets Asia for Manulife and was on the Asia Executive Committee and Global Leadership Team. At Manulife, Sachin was responsible for operations across Southeast and South Asia—including India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam—leading country general managers and chairing multiple boards, including Manulife Philippines, Manulife Singapore, and Manulife Japan.

Earlier in his career, Sachin was CEO of AIG’s Asia Pacific General Insurance business. He also spent two decades at MetLife, where he held a range of senior leadership positions, most notably as Chairman, CEO, and President of MetLife Japan—the company’s largest operation outside the United States.
Sachin was a member of the Board of Governors and later served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. He is also a member of the Advisory Board at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Sachin holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Science in Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology and is widely recognised for his commitment to teamwork, diversity, innovation, and talent development.
